"AI will play a vital role in how we shape our future!
AI has already begun to revolutionize our lives and our global society.
AI systems are increasingly integrated into decision-making processes at all levels of society – whether to increase safety in society, streamline the work of our criminal courts or influence other high-impact decisions, just to mention a few.
And this is just the beginning – a tiny scratch in the surface. The potential is immense.
Development is moving towards autonomous AI that does not need human intervention to make complex decisions.
But as we explore the potential of AI, we must also critically examine emerging trends that could challenge our ethical norms.
Since AI backed solutions are based on systems thinking, data models and algorithms – typically developed by players to advances their own specific agenda – transparency in AI systems is not only desirable, but essential.
But even though AI potentially can change existing structures and the balance of power, there is a risk that these systems will reinforce the very inequalities we want to eliminate.
We need to ensure that the data underpinning these systems is accurate, representative and free from bias.
We need to ensure that accountability measures are in place to monitor the decisions made by AI systems.
By democratizing access to this data, we can enable a wider range of stakeholders to participate in how we shape our global future.
But this will only be possible if we ensure that our ethical frameworks keep pace with AI's rapid evolution and if we are vigilant in safeguarding against its potential harms.
To harness AI for good, we must commit to ongoing ethical scrutiny, transparency, and accountability.
We must build systems that are not only technologically advanced but also socially responsible, systems that empower rather than marginalize.
Thank you!”
